What Is Poverty?
What is poverty? Poverty is hunger. Poverty is lack of shelter. Poverty is being sick and not being able to see a doctor. Poverty is not having access to school and not knowing how to read. Poverty is not having a job, is fear for the future, living one day at a time. Poverty is losing a child to illness brought about by unclean water. Poverty is powerlessness, lack of representation and freedom.Poverty is a call to action - for the poor and the wealthy alike - a call to change the world so that many more may have enough to eat, adequate shelter, access to education and health, protection from violence, and a voice in what happens in their communities. Poverty is the state of being without, often associated with need, hardship and lack of resources across a wide range of circumstances.
It is the inability to satisfy one's basic needs because one lacks income to buy services or from lack of access to services. Also to not be able to eat everyday and have a warm place to stay. Or to not be able to live in comfort for the fear of someday you might lose everything you have. To no be able to go to school and trying to find a job instead to help get the basic needs that your family needs. Poverty is sad and is a big issue not only in your neighborhood but around the world.

Who goes through Poverty?
Anyone can go through poverty. Your family, best friend, neighbor, school mates, co-workers, someone who sells you things at the store, anyone can be in poverty. Sometimes its more obvious than others. There are billions of people living in poverty around the world. Children, parents, teen, elders ll living in poverty.
Why are people in Poverty.
There can be many reasons why people live in poverty. Due to job loss, to many bills to pay, some because if medical bills, and some are in poverty because they would rather feed their addiction (drugs and/or alcohol) rather than pay for food or pay the rent. Many kids are born into poverty. People don't choose to live in poverty. It's just something that happens to unfortunate people.
